A granthi [Sikh priest] was beaten up last night by an angry mob after he was caught in a compromising position with a girl in a gurdwara complex.

Identified as Jaswinder Singh, he suffered [a] fracture in his left leg following [the] bashing and was admitted in a local private nursing home.

The granthi had come in contact with the girl who used to visit the gurdwara where he had been reciting shabad kirtan, according to some locals who bashed him for his acts.
