About Samita Kaur Lamba
Samita (Sonu) Kaur Lamba was born on Apr. 28, 1971 to Pritam Singh Bhui and Surinder Kaur in Karaikal (Pondicherry, India).
She was educated at Mount Carmel Convent School (Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India), Kendriya Vidyalaya O.N.G.C. (Sibsagar and Nazira, Assam, India), and University of Bombay's Srimati Mithibai Motiram Kundanani (M.M.K.) College of Commerce and Economics (Bandra).
Samita received her Chartered Accountant (C.A.) designation in Bombay (Maharashtra, India) from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India after articling with A.F. Ferguson & Co. (A.F.F.), where she was subsequently employed as an assistant audit manager. The former K.P.M.G.-affiliate A.F.F. is India's premier accounting and management consulting firm. According to Business World (August 2004), the recent A.F.F. merger with Deloitte Haskins & Sells (D.H.S.) created the top audit firm in India.
She enjoys yoga, table-tennis, badminton, roller-skating, and billiards and is an accomplished homemaker particularly adept at cooking and needlework (crocheting, cross-stitching, knitting, and tatting). She has been extremely driven toward creativity from a very young age. At the age of nine, she had learnt how to crochet and knit and was able to manipulate stitches on her own to create various shapes and sizes of hats for her dolls. Samita takes a particularly keen interest in reading and learning about health and fitness related matters.
Samita married Puneet Singh on Jul. 4, 1996 at Bombay, India. Samita and Puneet live in New England with their daughter, Ria Kaur, and son Ronak Singh. Samita became a Canadian citizen on Jun. 11, 2003.
Samita is a passionate teacher. She has successfully homeschooled Ria through grade 1 and is currently homeschooling Ria through grade 2.
