About Jagdish Kaur Lamba

Jagdish Kaur Lamba was born on Oct. 25, 1942 to Uttam Singh Randhawa (grandson of Lakhman Singh) and Kulwant Kaur in Dehradun (Uttar Pradesh, India) and was educated at the Indian Institute of Technology (I.I.T., Roorkee, Uttar Pradesh, India) and I.I.T. (New Delhi, India). Jagdish grew up in the house located at 490 Khurbura in Dehradun. She married Surendra Singh on Jul. 12, 1964. Jagdish and Surendra have two sons, Puneet Singh and Harmeet Singh, and a daughter, Sanyukta Kaur.

Jagdish and Surendra met at I.I.T. Roorkee while Jagdish was an undergraduate student of electronics and communication engineering there and Surendra was on a teaching assignment. Surendra's pet name for Jagdish was Anu, short for Anuradha.
